Racism and social determinants are substantial contributors to inequities in health care and health education. This presentation will briefly outline the problem and describe the development and implementation of an entrustable professional activity (EPA) framework to promote equity and antiracism across the continuum of education and practice.
At the conclusion of the session, participants should be able to:
- Describe the role of racism and other social determinants in exacerbating inequities in health and health education
- Discuss how an entrustable professional activity (EPA) framework can be used to promote equity and antiracism across the entire continuum of medical education and practice.
- Describe next steps for use of an EPA framework that explicitly promotes equity and antiracism as critical professional activities.
