Description: It has been almost 50 years since the World Health Organization (WHO) published on Competency-Based Curriculum Development in Medical Education. Since that time, much has changed in the provision of health care and education in the health professions, and competency-based education and assessment have continued to evolve. Earlier this year, the WHO published a comprehensive report outlining a Global Competency and Outcomes Framework for Universal Health Coverage. In this webinar, Siobhan Fitzpatrick, who led the development of this framework, will describe the process and outcomes. Additionally, we welcome Beena Kamath-Rayne and Saroj Jayasingh, educators from the international community will share their experiences with competency-based education and assessment with an eye toward the implications of the new framework.
