#ICEicle: AMEE Guides

POSTED BY:

For more than 15 years, the Association of Medical Educators of Europe (AMEE) has been producing high quality reviews of important topics in #MedEd.  With more than 100 guides, many of the key areas in health professions education are addressed in the catalogue.

I divide questions into background v. foreground.  Background questions are foundational and involve established content.  Foreground questions build on background content.  The answers to foreground questions are rapidly evolving.  An AMEE guide is a great first resource for a background question.  While the guides are not routinely updated, they provide an organizing framework and an introduction to the key issues.

The guides can be accessed through most institutional licenses or purchased for a small sum (in comparison to usual purchase costs from a publisher) from AMEE.
